A new year came in the form of 2025. New hopes, new enthusiasm, and new happiness are all going to be felt in the minds of central employees in the new year. Something related to this has been asked from the government employees for quite a time: when will the government announce the 8th Pay Commission for central employees?
Alternatively, they ask whether the question of an increase in salary will ever arise in the coming year, that is, 2026. Another is whether the government intends to bring about a new proposal for increment in salary to the central employees or the formation of the 8th Pay Commission.
8th pay commission salary hike
If you are a central employee, you, too, would be curious about the 8th Pay Commission salary hike. But to date, the government has kept mum on the entire thing. Actually, experts believe that there might be a formal announcement from the government over the 8th Pay Commission in the near future. The 7th Pay Commission was implemented in the year 2016.
With the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission, a minimum increase from lakh for the minimum salary of central employees rose from initially 7,000 to 18,000. Even, the salary of people sitting on higher posts increased directly by Rs 2.5 lakh. In this way, government employees believe that the government will announce a big change very soon regarding the 8th Pay Commission.
7th Pay Commission has completed 10 years
Nothing has come out very clearly yet about the 8th pay commission, but as per rule, one pay commission has to be formed after a span of 10 years. Thus, now since the 7th pay commission has turned 10 years old, the speculations about implementation of the 8th pay commission can strongly emerge in the year 2026. But these are just speculations.
Recently, however, the government suggested that instead of bringing a pay commission for the salary increase of government employees, they will be giving salary according to the performance of the employees. A few days ago, the Union Finance Ministry had announced in Parliament that a decision on the 8th Pay Commission had not yet been made by the government.
